Connect basic fault with block or instance

    in Rhapsody

    Dear Mr. Douglass,

I am now trying to create FTA models with Rhapsody based on your material: MBSE and Safety Analysis.

Regarding the connection b/w Basic Fault and Block/Class at slide 15. I wonder if we should connect to Instance instead of block?

    Happy to hear from you

It's more common to relate to the type rather than the instance, but it wouldn't be incorrect to relate to the instance either. The difference is subtle, but potentially important - are the the type (block) properties where the aspects are exposed or is it primarily due to the usage of the type in the specific context. Arguments can generally be made either way, but the specific problem is important in making the distinction. The question boils down to "is the definition of the element or its usage relevant?" - and note that it could be both.
